Case Studies: A Taste of LionbridgeServi-Challenge Another global perspective – Lionbridge Technologies, a global translation company had developed a fantastic document; a cookbook. The book combined the efforts and best recipes of its world-wide workforce. Each office held a cook-off competition for the best recipe. Global offices, many cultures and many languages – each recipe was to be featured in it’s native language and English. 50 offices came together and had a great experience, and then invited their clients to join them around the world united by good food and good friends. The initial book design had some challenging print goals and complex design. Could it be produced overseas? Keep it Domestic? The finished product needed to distribute to all 50 domestic and international offices. Keeping it all cost effective was key. Servi-Solution ![]() The initial design was very labor intensive. Servi assessed the budget needs relative to timing, manufacturing and quality control. The design was kept intact but the print and binding process was simplified to streamline production. Production stayed domestic as quantities & timing did not permit overseas manufacturing. Servi covered everything from proofreading to initial comps, we re-engineered the cover with a luxurious matte lamination and spot UV to make the title jump off the page, a silk finish text stock gives the book a wonderful feel. Press tests and press OK’s were conducted for all parts. Our logistics team coordinated warehousing, drop shipments, right size packing and on-line ordering capabilities. Results A Taste of Lionbridge was a huge hit with the workforce and clients. The book brought staff and clients together for relationship building events and serves as a great PR tool. It was a unique way to build morale across many offices and cultures and the compliments continue to roll in! | |||
